Body image issues can lead to dangerous behaviors like disordered eating, and can even lead to the development of an eating disorder. Eating disorders include a range of conditions in which food, weight, and appearance dominate one’s life. This preoccupation interferes with everyday living as well as physical and mental health.

Eating disorders are not a choice. They evolve due to a combination of biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors and often coexist with other issues such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The earlier treatment for an eating disorder begins, the higher the chances are for recovery. You can recover from eating disorders and body image issues.
