Poor body image increases the likelihood of engaging in risky behaviors like eating disorders, substance abuse, and violence. Almost 80% of adolescents interviewed in a recent survey were dissatisfied with their bodies and wished they could change them in some way. Over half of children between 10-12 years old said they worry about their weight and shape.

Social media, movies, TV, families, friends, diet culture - we are surrounded by messages that tell us we don’t measure up, that we’re not good enough.

You can help us fight back.

Thanks to the support from our generous donors last year, we presented our prevention programs to over 2000 local schoolchildren! That’s 2000 more youth that now have a lower risk of developing an eating disorder.

But we can’t continue to do this work without you.

How do your donations make a difference?

We depend solely on donations and grants to treat and prevent eating disorders and body image issues in our community. Prevention programs are the most effective way to reduce the rising cases of eating disorders!

Donate any time starting at midnight on Tuesday, August 13th, (it’s 24 hours this year!) at ErieGives.org

Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are accepted. Donations must be a minimum of $25.00.
